A little about me and my project

I’m Poppy Mixon, a 5th grader at Lakewood Elementary School in Henry County, Tennessee, and I’m raising and showing my steer, Mr. Moo-agi, for the Henry County Youth Livestock Show & Sale in Paris, TN. My goals this year are simple, but big: learn more about animal care, hard work, livestock as a business, and teamwork, and figure out what the 4-H steer project is really all about.

Mr. Moo-agi is a ShortHorn x Maine Anjou x Angus cross. He was born February 12, 2024, right here in Paris, TN, so he’s also entered in the Local Born & Bred competition. I made this site so I can share how it’s going, and so people coming to the fair or thinking about bidding can learn more about us.

Mr. Moo-agi

I gave him this nickname because he’s steady, focused, and always ready to work hard in the ring, kind of like a Daniel in the movie, “The Karate Kid.”
